  • We say cheers when we clink our glasses together to say we are enjoying the experience together or to wish each other good health. 

  • Immediately after clinking the glasses and saying cheers you should drink without putting the glass on the table. 

  • In some cultures it is important to stare into each other's eyes such as Italian. However, in British culture it is not important. 

  • Cheers is also an informal way to say thank you in British English.
